I love this. I love them.

I think I just might…
get away with not celebrating my birthday tomorrow.
Fifteen to eighteen percent of girls under twelve now wear mascara, eyeliner and lipstick regularly; eating disorders are up and self-esteem is down; and twenty-five percent of young American women would rather win America’s Next Top Model than the Nobel Peace Prize. Even bright, successful college women say they’d rather be hot than smart. A Miami mom just died from cosmetic surgery, leaving behind two teenagers. This keeps happening, and it breaks my heart.
Teaching girls that their appearance is the first thing you notice tells them that looks are more important than anything. It sets them up for dieting at age 5 and foundation at age 11 and boob jobs at 17 and Botox at 23. As our cultural imperative for girls to be hot 24/7 has become the new normal, American women have become increasingly unhappy. What’s missing? A life of meaning, a life of ideas and reading books and being valued for our thoughts and accomplishments.

I remember when I would set my TV alarm to switch to the Mavericks game, so I wouldn’t miss it.
I remember how sad I was when Steve Nash left.
I remember how upset I was when Michael Finley left.
I remember how sad I was when Don Nelson was no longer the head coach.
I remember waiting in line to see Devin Harris in front of the Mavericks shop at Northpark.
I remember attending all of the Jason Terry sponsored fan events at SpeedZone.
I remember getting to take a picture with JET of us “flying.”
I remember how I felt when we lost during the 2005-2006 Finals.
I remember the disappointments in the following playoff runs.
I remember how sad I was when Avery Johnson was no longer the head coach.
I’ll remember tonight.
June 12, 2011.
Dallas Mavericks are the 2010-2011 World Champions.
Congratulations<3
I don’t give a fuck if you’re a Twilight fan. If that’s what floats your boat then by all means, be a Twilight fan. People have differing opinions and the world would be boring if we all had the same opinion. However, the fact that this movie swept the awards is fucking BULLSHIT. The acting is crap. The plot is crap. And these were against GREAT. MOVIES. Movies like Inception, Harry Potter, The Black Swan, the Social Network. All movies with TREMENDOUS acting and a solid fucking plot. Movies that make you think, movies that blow your mind, movies that tell you you can achieve whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it. Movies that break your heart. Movies that don’t always have the happy ending. THOSE movies should be the ones to sweep. Not ones like fucking Twilight where little girls are taught that you are nothing without a man. Fuck that noise.

wow society..
A woman makes her own social science experiment. First, while very plain looking, she asked for free cake, and free taxi rides. She was rejected on every request but once. Then she got fully made up with heels, make up, and a revealing dress. She basically has everything thrown at her for free.
